Leks was walking around the house, her mind elsewhere. Suddenly, she heard a small voice calling out to her from the floor. Looking down, she saw her best friend, Pablo, waving up at her. His tiny figure brought a smile to her face as she bent down to greet him. Pablo was always there for her, offering support and comfort when she needed it most. She knew he would do anything for her, even if it meant risking his own safety. As she talked with him, she couldn't help but notice the worried expression on his face. He was trying to warn her about something, but she couldn't quite understand what he was saying. Suddenly, without warning, Lek's foot descended upon Pablo. The impact was hard enough to send shockwaves through her body, but it was nothing compared to what Pablo felt. He screamed in pain as he felt himself being crushed beneath her foot. Leks looked down in horror as she realized what had happened. "Pablo, are you okay?" she asked, her voice shaking with fear. She couldn't believe she had just stepped on her best friend. He lay there, motionless, his body twitching with pain. Leks quickly knelt down beside him, tears welling up in her eyes. She reached out to touch him, but hesitated. She didn't know what to do or how to help him. With a deep breath, Leks pulled out her phone, ready to call for help. But then, she hesitated again. Medical expenses for accidents involving reduced-size people were extremely high, and she couldn't afford them. She looked at Pablo, his body still trembling, and knew she couldn't let him suffer any longer. Taking a deep breath, she made her decision. Looking into Pablo's eyes, she saw the fear and pain he was feeling. "Pablo," she said, her voice shaking. "I'm sorry. I can't let you suffer anymore. It's not fair to you or to me." With one final look of despair, Pablo nodded his head in agreement. Leks took one last deep breath and bent down to kiss his forehead. Then, with tears streaming down her face, she closed her eyes and swallowed him whole, feeling his body slide down her throat. As she stood up, she could feel Pablo's presence within her. She knew it was wrong, but she also knew that it was the only way to end his suffering. She looked over at the spot where Pablo had been just moments ago, a feeling of emptiness filling her heart. With a heavy heart, she knew she had just lost her best friend, but she also knew that it was the most selfless act she could have ever done for him.
