With no other choice, they decided to take a chance. As they waited for Libby to return, Amanda and Pete's fear grew with each passing minute. Suddenly, they heard the familiar sound of Libby's footsteps approaching. With a heavy heart, they knew their chance at escape was almost here. Libby walked back into the room, completely unaware of the plan brewing in her tiny pets' minds. She noticed them huddled together on the floor, discussing something in hushed tones. Her curiosity piqued, she approached them cautiously. "What are you two up to?" she asked suspiciously. Before they could respond, Pete sprang into action. He grabbed the shrink ray and aimed it at Amanda. The red beam of light hit her body, causing her to shrink down to just a few inches tall. Seeing this, Libby's eyes widened in surprise and anger. She quickly realized what was happening and tried to grab Pete before he could escape. But it was too late. Pete jumped out of the way, narrowly avoiding her grasp. Amanda watched in horror as Pete ran towards the couch where they had found the shrinking device earlier. She knew they had to act fast if they wanted any chance at escaping their giant captor. Pete made it to the couch and grabbed the device just as Libby was about to reach him. He turned it on and aimed it at himself, willing his body to shrink down to the size of a doll. Meanwhile, Amanda struggled to keep up with Pete's small frame. She managed to jump onto the couch just as he finished shrinking. They both watched in relief as their bodies shrank down to an astonishingly small size. Feeling a sense of accomplishment, they held hands and looked up at their former captor. She stood there, towering over them, her eyes filled with rage. "You little bastards!" she shouted, her voice echoing in the room. "You think you can just escape that easily?" Without warning, she stomped her foot hard on the floor, sending shockwaves through the room. Amanda and Pete clung to each other, bracing themselves for the impact. But instead of being crushed, they felt nothing. Pete looked at Amanda, confusion written all over his face. They both realized that the shrink ray had protected them from the shockwaves. Libby watched in disbelief as her tiny pets remained unharmed. Her anger turned into a twisted sense of curiosity. She bent down and picked up Pete, examining him closely. "How do you two keep surviving this?" she asked, her voice low and menacing. Pete looked into her eyes, trying to read her thoughts. He couldn't believe she was considering letting them go after everything they had been through. "We just want to live our lives in peace," he pleaded, his voice shaking. "Please let us go." But Libby couldn't resist the power she held over them. With a sinister grin, she placed Pete back on the floor and walked away.
